Part P
From 1st January 2005 new revisions of the Building Act 1984 came into effect.
The changes focused on the "electrical safety in dwellings" (Part P of the Building
Regulations)
All domestic electrical installations (such as installation of a new circuit, any electrical work in the kitchen or bathroom or outside of the property, gardens, garages or outbuildings) are subject to approval by the Local Authority Building Control except in the case of electricians who work for a company that is a member of a Competent Person's scheme.
Chris Dykes has been assessed against the requirements of the ELECSA Rules for registration under the Competent Persons Scheme and has been registered as an ELECSA Approved Contractor working to all relevant IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
You can therefore be sure that all electrical work has been carried out to a high
and safe standard and all notifiable domestic work is covered by an Insurance Backed
Warranty (IBW)
